The Duke Energy Foundation is awarding IUPUI’s Center for Earth and Environmental Science a $400,000 grant. The school says the funding will allow the center to double the number of students it reaches through its Discovering the Science of the Environment program.

CEES says the funding will also enable the program to expand its curriculum to include alternative energy and energy conservation. The school will also purchase a “mobile science trailer,” which will include interactive technology and GIS mapping capabilities for use in hands-on outdoor lessons.
