Description: In this course, students will learn about the processes that have created and maintained the natural world with an emphasis on local ecological processes. We will study forest, prairie, lake and wetland systems as well as organic agriculture. The course will combine lectures with field and laboratory activities. In addition to collecting and analyzing data, students will be expected develop an inquiry based lesson plan using local ecology that they will share with other students and complete a take home final exam. Class will meet at the Indiana University Research and Teaching Preserve Facility.
