Diane Briars has directed the Pittsburgh Public Schools’ mathematics program for the past twenty years. She was senior program officer for Mathematics and Science Education and co-director of Pittsburgh’s Urban Systemic Project, PRIME-PLUS (Pittsburgh Reform in Mathematics Education and in Programs for Learning and Understanding Science). She is a member of the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics (NCSM) National Leadership Academy faculty, and of the CTB/MARS Balanced Assessment in Mathematics Board.

Grace Kelemanik works as a mathematics education consultant to districts and schools grappling with issues surrounding high stakes assessment, implementation of standards-based curriculum, and support of English Language Learners. She co-directed the K–12 Mathematics Curriculum Implementation Center, has served on the NCSM Board of Directors, and was a member of the NCTM Instructional Issues Advisory Committee.

Mary Lynn Raith recently retired from her position as mathematics curriculum specialist for the Pittsburgh Public Schools, where she played leadership roles in curriculum development, design of assessments, in-service program design and implementation, in-class support of teachers, and coordination of mathematics programs across levels and schools. She was a member of the authorship team for Mathematical Assessment — A Practical Handbook for Grades 6–8, National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and Bridges to Algebra.
