Teaching

Support STEM teachers with continuing education and resources for teaching;

Increase participation in content-based professional development;

Increase the mathematics and science content knowledge of teachers;

Improve pedagogical skills related to teaching through problem solving and inquiry;

Promote the use of standards-based goals, instruction, and assessment;

Provide and support face-to-face and online professional development for teachers, principals, and district leaders;

Provide tools and technical assistance to help educators achieve academic excellence for all students.
Applied Research, Assessment, and Evaluation

Promote the availability of academic competitions for more students;

Increase the number of classes were students are afforded Experiential learning opportunities;

Increase the number of students participating in classes with teachers using problem solving and inquiry teaching skills.
Community Partnerships

Advocate research-based and comprehensive programs of instruction; for state and national policies that support improved teaching and learning in STEM subject areas;

Provide Indiana education leaders and policymakers with knowledge about teaching and learning and promote informed deliberation about important education issues;

Provide K-12 STEM Leadership for a Indiana K-12 STEM stakeholders;

Communicate the status of science, mathematics, and technology education to legislators, the media, and the community at large;

Network Development

Promote I-STEM Resource Network awareness and information sharing;

Create financial sustainability of the I-STEM Resource Network;

Examine and pursue relevant grant opportunities to support and enhance the I-STEM Resource Network;

Provide strategic technical assistance programs that do not duplicate existing programs, but add value to on-going programs; work collaboratively with other existing groups to advance science, mathematics, and technology education;

Develop and promote internal and external communications within the I-STEM Resource Network and the State of Indiana.
